The Art of Slow Handloom Weaving
A single Motifss saree can take anywhere from two weeks to several months to complete. Each piece is a product of absolute focus, where the master weaver sits at a wooden pit loom, guiding fine silk warp threads and real metallic zari weft threads row-by-row. There are no automated motors—only the skilled hands and rhythm of the artisan.

The Weaving Process Defined
Traditional Silk Dyeing
High-grade mulberry silk yarns are manually washed and hank-dyed in custom copper pots using rich heritage pigments. This manual soaking guarantees the silk maintains its tensile strength and unique color depth.
Naksha Design Drafting
Master artists draft intricate floral, paisley, and geometric border designs on paper grid sheets. These templates are then punched manually into card structures that direct the jacquard loom mechanism.
Loom Setup & Drafting
Thousands of warp threads are meticulously aligned and threaded individually into the loom harness over several days. The tension of every silk fiber must be perfectly balanced to ensure an even weave.
Manual Shuttle Weaving
The weaver coordinates the shuttle, loom pedals, and jacquard pattern keys, hand-crafting just two to four inches of pure fabric a day. Every warp and weft crossing is a test of rhythm and absolute focus.
